FAQ
Common questions, straight answers.
Roster auto-upload, how your credentials and data are protected, and pricing — the things every pilot asks before they sign up.
Can SkyBuddy upload my schedule automatically?
Yes — connect your airline credentials once and SkyBuddy pulls a fresh roster whenever it changes, so you never have to re-import after a swap or a last-minute reroute. If you'd rather not link your account, manual import (screenshot, paste, or CSV) still works.
How are my credentials and roster data protected?
Airline credentials are encrypted with a per-user key and stored in an isolated vault — they're only ever used to fetch your roster, and the rest of the app cannot read them. Schedule data is encrypted at rest, never sold or shared, and only confirmed buddies see your layover windows.
Is the app free?
Yes — the entire app is free right now, with every feature included: roster auto-upload, unlimited buddies, observer links, and the AI clone. If pricing is ever introduced, you'll get plenty of notice and a clear upgrade path.
How does the AI clone learn my voice?
Record a 30-second sample once. The clone learns your cadence and only answers pre-approved questions — ETA, routing, general status. Anything sensitive is queued and surfaced to you the moment you land.
How do buddies get connected?
Send an in-app invite or share a one-time link. Both sides have to confirm — there's no public directory, no scraping, no auto-discovery.
Can observers turn the link off?
Yes - you can revoke any permanent observer link from your account’s menu tab. In addition you can opt for 24h temporary observer links.
